Last night was a real good time. I drove an hour to Deptford to see Horse The Band with Shaun. It had a really big turnout, considering that it changed venues last minute. Saw Justin Krause there. The bands didn't start playing till 9, so we were standing there for a while. Shaun was dead tired and I was really amped up and excited, which is weird because I'm usually the tired grumpy one. The first band, Before I Burn wasn't anything special, but they were fun. I wasn't too into the next band after them. Then the Killing played. Not exactly my type of music, but they were good. The keyboard player looked like my creative writing teacher and he punched his keyboard, so he's okay in my book. Then No Hollywood Ending was next. I'm not into them at all, but the kids liked them, and all the "tough hardcore guys" hated them. Then Nag Hamadi played. I really wanted to mosh for their set like I did at Skate and Surf, but I was getting really hungy and I hadn't eated anything since like 3 (and it was about 11) then so I sat for most of their set and got a pretzel. I moshed for their last song and got kicked in the nuts for it.
Then, finally, at midnight, HORSE The Band played. I don't think I've ever had so much fun during a bands set. There were dudes breakdancing, Shaun and I piled on the singer and sang along for the "Cut cut cut cut" part of Cutsman, and even the "too cool for this shit" kids had fun and danced. The bassist looked EXACTLY like Scott Hearn, that was weird. And they just kept playing, I thought their last 5 songs were gonna be their last. They played till 12:40, and the show was supposed to be done at 12:30, and there was still another band left. I felt bad for those dudes, but I left because I had an hour's drive ahead of me. Shaun invited me to hang out, but I declined. But then at the last minute I changed my mine and met him, Dave, Tom, Bob, Biddy, Shawn, and Kristal at Denny's and got myself the Meat Lover's Breakfast. Pat called me to tell me he was at TCNJ, but I didn't get back there till three, and he left like 2 hours before that.
Overall, last night was a great time. I moshed and looked retarded for all six bands that I saw, even the ones I didn't like. I just like to mosh, even if all the tough dudes act like I'm not cool enough because I'm wearing jeans and not mesh shorts or whateverthefuck, it was a good, good time.
